Bill Hewlett formed Civilised Separations in London on his return from Australia, where he ran six Family Relationship Mediation Centres. Bill helps parents to manage their post-separation relationship in a way that recognises the importance of children being able to sense that their parents are collaborating for their sake. If agreed, the children can describe how they are feeling during this uncertain time.
Evidence shows that children define themselves through their relationship with their parents and that they deeply care about what their parents think about each other. Therefore it is vital that a sense of appreciation and positive regard between parents is achieved – not an easy task when a relationship has broken down.
After 26 years in this field, Bill is well qualified to help resolve even the most challenging parenting relationships. This enables children to feel safe and reassured, allowing them to focus on the important task of growing up into well-adjusted young adults.
Bill Hewlett trains a range of other professionals across the UK, Hong Kong and Australia, and is often invited to speak at global conferences. Bill’s work is highly commended and frequently referred by lawyers and judges in the UK.
